2017 Tempranillo

Mirasol Vineyards- Texas Hill Country

Mirasol vineyard, located in the northern Hill Country, has vines that are now ten years old, planted in 2008. Fully mature vines result in lower yields and more complete ripening. Tight soils with high clay content allowed the vines enough water to flourish through a hot-dry summer. Harvested in late-July and early August, the 2017 crop contained less color intensity than previous years, but a greater amount of acid, giving the wines a tart freshness on the mouth, making them very food-friendly.
